Sometimes the best memories are made when we set aside the official competition and simply enjoy being together on the water. Paddling reminds us that community isn’t about who comes in first, but about who shows up, shares a laugh, and celebrates the moment. This year’s Halloween Classic is all about that spirit — connection, fun, and the joy of being on the water as one with friends and family.

​With that said, by all means, please feel free to paddle hard and challenge yourself and those around you, if racing is what you do best!

Event Highlights:

• FREE TO PARTICIPATE! – No registration fee this year. Just sign up, show up, and paddle.

• NO TIMERS: Feel free to time yourself and make a little competition with others, but we won't be keeping tracking of individual racer times.

• Many Watercraft Welcome – Outriggers, SUPs, kayaks, surfskis, rowboats, you name it.

• All Ages – Bring the whole family. Race hard or just cruise at your own pace. **Long Course for mid-advance paddlers with ocean experience only please.

• Costume Contest – Dress to impress (or scare!) for a chance at bragging rights and cash prizes.

• Fun, Not Just Competition – Whether you paddle to win or just want to enjoy the day, the goal is togetherness on the water.

• Community Spirit – Celebrate Halloween with friends, family, and fellow paddlers in a festive, active way.

• NO Jerseys or Lunch this year. Dress how you like, bring any snacks and refreshments. Come hand out and make some memories.  

 

Are you ready for some competitive paddling and goofy Halloween costumes? San Diego Outrigger Canoe Club is hosting our annual race, the San Diego Halloween Classic. We would love to see you all there!

If you would like to, come dressed up in a costume and participate in the costume contest. There will be cash prizes for the top costume winners in single and group categories! **To win a costume prize, you must come to the registration table at Ventura Cove by 11am.

Online registration ends at 5pm on Oct 24th. In-person registration at the event will be on the beach at Ventura Cove
